New Facebook Group: How to Get Even More Exposure
For those who are desirous of a better exposure as it regards their blog contents, I sincerely believe that the New Facebook Group can help out.
For starters, why would you need more exposure for your blog contents? It’s simple! Amongst other reasons, it ensures that more people have access to the incredible value-packed contents you have available on your blog (assuming they are valuable contents), they are able to share them with their friends on facebook, their followers on twitter e.t.c, and thus making Google see you as somebody credible that deserves to be in a position where even more people can see you on the web.
All of this is to make sure that people who get to see you take note of you as an authority and connect with you. From then, you can pretty much do anything you desire with them.
I believe the New Facebook Group provides a tremendous opportunity here.
How does the New Facebook Group work?
Unlike the old group, the New Facebook Group makes it easy for you to build a space for a selected category of people. Unlike the previous one, this feature helps you to add them, not invite them, to the group after the group is created. Now this helps in a way because your request does not fall in the myriad of requests that every one of us has on facebook and simply do not pay attention to. And of course they have the option of leaving the group if they do desire, and anytime anyone leaves Facebook blocks you from ever inviting the person again. I think it’s cool because it makes me think more when adding anyone to the group!
The New Facebook Groups feature allows you to add any of your facebook friends to a group where you can privately share content such as photos, opinions, events, text documents, and even blog posts. Perhaps you can do this with the former one, but I have noticed that this New Facebook Group type enables even more interaction.
For instance I have noticed that it is more effective in sharing links of my blog posts. Statistics indicate that they get more clicked and shared and commented on. The links on the actual group is commented on and the blog post itself receives more comments. It acts as a true Mastermind or Tribe where a larger percentage of the group members feel more committed to each other.
Another reason for the increase in interactivity is due to the ease of navigation. As indicated in the picture of the New Facebook Group image above, instead of clicking ‘Group’ as in the old Facebook group and looking for the group I want to go to, this New Facebook Group type is easily seen on the left side of the ‘Home’ page, thus making the navigation quite easy.
Other Cool Features of the New Facebook Group
- When a group member posts to the group, everyone in the group will receive a notification about that post. Now I won’t have to guess anymore about whether my friends saw the quotes I posted ; when I post my blog contents, I’ll know that they’ve been notified about it and that they will see it.
- There is also the added feature of making sharing and communication with members of the group of people easier, through Group Chat. Whereas in the past you’ve only been able to chat with one person at a time on Facebook, now you can chat with everyone in your group at once with the New Facebook Group.
- You can also use Groups as a replacement for mailing lists by setting up your group to send an email to you anytime anyone posts in it. You can even set up a group email address so members can keep in touch when they’re not on Facebook—emails they can turn into posts in the group.
What’s the Catch with the New Facebook Group?
Well, the catch is that like every other thing else, with the New Facebook Group, you should make attempts to give if you want to receive. If you see anyone post a valuable content, comment on it, syndicate the content if it is a blog post. Most often than not the owner of the content will be inclined to check you and your contents out, and will most likely reciprocate the good gesture if he/she is equally impressed with what you have to offer. I have been able to form great friendships and to deepen other ones this way.
Some other people complain that e-mail notifications for a new group can quickly fill up your inbox. This is very easy to curb: Simply click on “Edit Notifications” or “Edit Settings” in the top right corner of the group page. When the pop-up window appears uncheck the box next to “send email notifications to.” And that’s it. No mails to your inbox ever for the group!
Tosin, any ‘New Facebook Group’ Recommendations?
I’d recommend that you create a new Facebook Group yourself and add friends who can add value to the group, in addition to joining other ones.
I have a few solid recommendations I am a part of. I have found these groups truly useful in terms of blog exposure, friendships and learning. They are really cool and I gladly recommend them:
- Maria Eves MLM Network Marketing
- Roger Holmes MLM Video Marketing Allstar Mastermind Group
- Steven’s Global Mastermind Association Group
- Marketing Survival Skills (You don’t become a part of this until you are a member of the Marketing Survival Skills family. It truly is a remarkable group and I strongly recommend this group to you. Find out details HERE.)
A request to join the first three groups should do the magic. And the fourth requires a SPECIAL PASS.
Note: If you choose to start a valuable New Facebook Group, don’t hesitate to give me a shout-out. Feel free to add me. I’d love to add my most valuable contents to the community and form new friendships.
All the best!

Tosin Im so glad you shared your own experience of integrating into the group Im honoured thankyou. Great description of facebook group and yes its a great way to brand yourself and build great relationships. Im looking forward to you turning it into a video 3mins.
Thankyou for shareing Tosin…
Hi Tosin,
the new Facebook groups are two fold: The best way to annoy people is adding them without asking them. By default, they’re getting all notifications about everything and nothing that gets posted on the group’s wall my email (!) – unless they change the settings. Well, leaving the group is just as easy as changing the settings…
Thanks for sharing your insights.
Take care

i have experience more exposure with the groups very professional and intimate,
Ive seen nothing but positive happen ever since the new facebook groups arrived. That’s only if your participating that is. Now that would be where people falter at when they just sit there and don’t create exposure for themselves. Plus it builds relationships. Im wondering though as to why the old groups don’t show like the new group features?

Hey Tosin,
Great information you’re sharing here. Yes, the new group set up is ideal in interacting with others better than the old one.
However, I don’t like people being added to the groups without sending invites. At first I was overwhelmed with the email notifications until I discovered how to stop them in the settings
Thanks for sharing, Tosin.
All the best,
Mavis
