MLM Success: Are You too Old to find Success?
MLM Success: Are You too Old to find Success?
Take it or leave it, the present financial crisis hitting the world has found a lot of people, including baby-boomers, contemplating their financial freedom. And because MLM offers such a great option to the insecurity of a traditional job, a lot of people are asking themselves if they are actually too old to achieve MLM success.
People have seen the fallacy of chasing a secure job. There are no secure jobs, people have found out the hard way.
Because of that, people are starting to take MLM serious as a viable alternative to the stereotyped 9-5 job that so many people have come to see as the only lifestyle.
And who would not take MLM serious when you are rightly informed of the potential of the awesome industry.
For starters, it is an industry you get involved with average of $300 – $700, and has the potential of not just generating you tremendous direct income like you have obtainable at your job or used to have at your job, but also something called passive income, whereby you continue to generate income whether you actively driving it or not.
MLM is the last bastion left in the free enterprise system where the average person—without a large investment, vast experience, or a lot of education— can still create wealth. Many people with no college education, big war chests, or powerful connections have built fortunes in MLM.
I mean, imagine having an international business with only a computer, internet connection and a phone, and still you get great tax advantages, have the opportunity to travel to fun and exciting destinations. You’ll love building your business because you’ll be helping others build success also.
You have the rewards and independence of being your own boss, yet still enjoy the training, resources, and support of a major corporate support structure behind you. It’s like owning a franchise, but without paying the large franchise start-up investment and ongoing royalty fees.
Little wonder people like Stephen Covey, Donald Trump, Warren Buffett, Robert Kiyosaki, Bill Clinton, Mark Hensen, Robert Allen, Richard Branson, Tom Peters, Jim Rohn, Paul Zane Pilzer, Doug Wead, Zig Ziglar, Sylvester Stallone, Jim Collins, Harv Eker, Pat Utomi etc have all endorsed the industry. They have all agreed that it is indeed the most democratic way of wealth creation in the history of the world. Period!
But you are still wondering if you are too old to get started. You are wondering if it is too late to join the growing list of people from all around the world who are taking calculated risks in venturing into an industry that has been credited with creating one of the, if not the biggest number of millionaires.
You hear teenagers and young people in their early 20’s make fortunes on the internet and are wondering if you can fit in.
Never too Old to Dream a New Dream
Well I say it is never too old to dream a new dream. That’s a beautiful statement!
I understand that the thought of growing old is never appealing to a lot of people. Not only do we feel bad over the physical changes that take place, but with every passing year we look back and wonder what could have been. What could we have achieved if only we started getting serious about life when we were younger? What great things could we have done if only we had a good “start?”
How sad it must be to sit around and mope over lost time! However, what so many people do not understand is that life is life. If you are alive then you have the potential to achieve anything you set your mind to.
While most successful men start their careers at an early age, Harland Sanders’ story begins when he was sixty-five years old. He had spent many years of his life operating a restaurant.
However, once he quit the food business and sat back to relax in retirement, he found himself penniless. When the Colonel received his first Social Security check in the amount of $105.00, he knew he had to get out of his rocking chair and do something to earn some real money.
Colonel Harland D. Sanders was broke and living off his Social Security check at 66 years of age. He did not consider himself “too old” to get started. He took his chicken recipe to the road and offered franchises. Within about 10 years he had accumulated over 600 franchised outlets which he sold for $2 million dollars.
I dare say that what took Sanders 10 years to accomplish in a traditional business can take you less than 3 years in MLM if you follow someone who is able to guide in your financial journey.
You are Old? You Have a Great Advantage!
Why did I say that? It’s simple! You are the one that has time to accomplish things. You are the one that has wisdom that comes from a lifetime of experience. You have friends, contacts and a world of knowledge that would take a younger person a lifetime to learn.
The problem is not your body or your mind—it’s the perception of society that our elders are incapable of great achievement. The media tells us that if you don’t achieve great things when you are young, then you never will. While such negativity does keep many older persons stifled, some people are strong enough to go against the current and find success anyway. And they succeed!
Do you know that author Harry Bernstein didn’t publish his first book (“The Invisible Wall”) until he was 96 years of age? Even in Hollywood, the cruelest business in the world, actors in their 70s and 80s like Fyvush Finkel and Ray Walston were still capable of winning praise and awards for their performances. Both stars remarked at the Emmy Awards that they waited a lifetime for their recognition.
Don’t let anyone tell you that you are too old to start making changes in life—or that you are too old to change the world! If you have definite goals and a burning desire to achieve them then you have precisely what it takes to fulfill a dream. That is true whether you are 18 or 81!
You are never too old to get started!

Never, Tosin! Age is not a factor in this game….until after you’re dead lol
The moment you decide to become a success in MLM or any venture, you are well on your way. Whether you are 18 or 80 does not matter. The decision matters, and you are the one who can make it at any time. Just make the decision NOW!
I love the Colonel Sanders example Tosin. We were talking about him with our taxi driver here in Bali. There are KFC’s here, just like in many countries around the world, and the dude who founded this massive empire flopped at many ventures until later in life. Now, his success is spread throughout the world in a multi-billion dollar empire.
Thanks for sharing your insight!

Hi Ryan,
Absolutely! It all starts with a decision.
Also, isnt it lovely that people who get to do such things when they are advanced in years give us so much inspiration. Imagine talking about Sanders in Bali. Incredible!
Thanks Ryan
Tosin
Hi Tosin,
The problem is not the age, but your attitude.
If you are about to retire and all you think of is to “go through” those last years to finally get your paycheck from social security, then you are not for this industry.
And those “last years” can be another 40. There are people in their 20′s that have no ambition beyond a job and a future retirement.

Hi Edwin,
You are right! IT’s about the mind. I have discovered that success has got no age.
That’s why we see both the young and old prosper, and also see both the young and the old give up on life.
Thanks Edwin

Hey Tosin,
Wonderful inspiration here.
Too old is just an excuse. A powerful dream and the desire to manifest it will overcome the age, current status or any other obstacle.
I know this: when you commit to something, no matter what, the universe will help you find a way…perhaps is not the way you exactly expected but certainly is one the supports your dream.
Luv all the examples here. There are countless old people that accomplished great things. MLM is not the scary monster or just for the special ones. No, if you put your heart, mind, body and soul to make it work, it will work.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts
I appreciate it.
Best,
Radu
Hi Radu,
Of course MLM is not for the special people. Success has got no barrier. Age is just an excuse. Have a strong desire and you can get started on the journey to success.
Thanks for stopping by
Tosin
Great Post, I like the way you used the ’18 or 81′, very apt, you can dare to make your millions now and its never to late. Thank God for the MLM or Network marketing industry.Thank you Tosin

Hi Godwin,
The decision to start making things happen starts with each one of us, whether at 18 or 81.
Good to see you here
Tosin
What can I say… A master piece!
The issue of age has always been deliberated upon, especially when it involves business. The easiest thing for most people to do today is make excuses as to why he/she can’t do this or that.
As I was reading down the post, the Colonel Sanders story was playing in my mind before I got to the point where you actually mentioned it. That has always inspired me.
This industry has created a lot of wealthy people who believed they could make it regardless of age. Keep up the good work buddy, all the best.

HI Otoabasi,
Colonel’s Story is classic. The man simply refused to take no for an answer and to not listen to nay-sayers. IT’s inspiring!
And it’s true that our industry does not care about age.
Thanks for adding to the discussion, buddy
Tosin
Going into business for yourself, MLM or not, is just about the only opportunity available to older people. Corporate America doesn’t want us, so starting a business is our best shot.
I think that talent rises to the top in any age group. Not everyone will succeed, but the opportunity to try is there.

You are never too old to start in business, regardless of what type it is.
As long as you’re prepared for hard work and are passionate about what you do. I do think it’s harder the older you get though – for example, you may not have the latest skills in technology, this of course can be learnt but it’s another challenge.
I think before anyone embarks on setting up a business they need to analyse their strengths and weaknesses and their skill set. For example, you may struggle initially with the IT side but on the plus side you could have a large network which someone younger may not.
Of course just because you’re older doesn’t necessarily mean you won’t be as good at the IT side, this is just an example.

Hi Tosin,
Age does not matter at all. We know a on our team who is in his 70s and he’s out there every day putting all the ‘youngsters’ to shame!
Great inspiration!

Age is never a factor or a hurdle with anything. If you have a good attitude and if you’re determined with your vision, you can certainly achieve it, no matter what you’re age is! As you say, with old age, the experience comes as a plus.

Thanks for the post Tosin,
While it could be very easy for a 20 year old to get people’s attention, that doesn’t mean old people can’t.
I love this part of the post:
