7 Favorite MLM Books: Here’s My List
7 Favorite MLM Books: Here’s My List

Everyone who knows me intimately would attest to the fact that I am a book worm. I read a lot. Even before I encountered MLM I had always being fascinated by books. I once overheard my mum telling someone that I could use my lunch money to buy a book(s). And I have several times.
One of the best gifts you can even give me is a gift of a book. It was even a book by Robert Kiyosaki that finally convinced me to go in search of a MLM business opportunity. I was literarily asking people around me if they know of any MLM company I could be a part of.
I can never forget the day my soon-to-be upline called me to tell me about his business opportunity. We met at a restaurant and I ENDURED the opportunity meeting with him explaining the business and compensation plan. It was so confusing to me and I could hardly remember anything he said that day. When he was done, he asked when I was going to be signing up and I said tomorrow. I bet he thought he was a great presenter. I was already convinced that MLM was the way to go from Robert Kiyosaki’s book and was only looking for ANY business opportunity to get involved with at that time.
Therefore, ever since I encountered MLM I have spent copious time reading and researching the industry and putting to work some methods and strategies outlined in the books. I have read books that I think are great and some others that I think are a waste of time.
How Important Are Books to Your MLM Business
It does not cease to amaze when I meet someone struggling in MLM and I ask him how many books on Network Marketing he has read and he looks at me cross-eyed wondering what the heck that has got to do with his success in MLM.
Listen guys: If you want to become a Medical Doctor, you spend years upon years going to school and reading loads of books. I studied Civil Engineering in College (Details in ‘My Story’) and I cannot remember the number of books and handouts I bought and read before I graduated. So it baffles me why some just think they can just come into this awesome industry that has served as a refuge for so many professionals tired of their 9-5 rat race and just breeze in without developing themselves through reading books on the subject. It does not work that way. Okay?
I know several people in MLM who are earning crazy amounts they would never have dreamt of if they were still at their jobs. People having time freedom to do what they have always wanted to do with their spouse, kids, community because of this industry. People finally having the courage to dream again all because of MLM. People loving the opportunity to help other people succeed, that satisfaction that comes knowing that you have helped another person take back his life, all as a result of their involvement in MLM.
So how come people just think you can just breeze into MLM and not learn the trade. I still don’t get it!
In fact one of the ways I qualify people who want to work with me is to recommend a book for them and see if they will follow through. If they fail to read it then it’s obvious to me that anyone who cannot bring himself to read a book that would shorten his learning curve is not yet ready to take his business to the next level.
My 7 Favorite Network Marketing Books
I am going to list below my favourite mlm books and some of you might be wondering why some are on the list. You would think so because some of them don’t have mlm attached to them.
Listen: MLM does not have to be attached to them. MLM encompasses so many things: Building rapport, persuasion, mindset building, presentation, advertising, marketing, sales, social media etc. Any book that would teach me something whose application would lead to great returns in my mlm business is on my list.
Below is my list, but not in any order.
- My First Year in Network Marketing
I remember vividly the day I saw this book. It was brought to a business opportunity meeting by my upline and he was singing praises of the book. He told us to go get a copy. I took him aside and told him that I cant wait for a week to get the book ordered from Lagos, that I would love him to borrow me his copy.
He did and I finished it the first night. It was so inspiring. I felt like the Yarnells were talking to me.
A got a copy two weeks after and I have lost count of the number of times I have read the book. My copy is worn out and torn. That’s how much I love the book!
- Secret Code of Success
For a lot of people who are into personal development, they have read almost every book out there…at least they’ve tried them. The majority leaves them, cold, and despite a lot of commitment to get through them, most are set aside after laboring through the first third of the books.
Noah St. John’s book is different. It leaves the readers saying, ‘I can do this. Finally, I get it. I see how I can do it, right here, right now.
I highly recommend this book. It gives readers the real life tools they can use on a regular basis to increase productivity and do some internal spring-cleaning.
- The Secrets of the Millionaire Mind
Harv is the Dr. Phil of wealth. His brutally honest and BS-free approach is a HUGE wake-up call for anybody who is struggling financially. I’ve been reading wealth books on and off for the past 3 years and this is THE ONE! The others mostly deal with the external mechanics of wealth and overlook the mindset, which is by far the most important component of obtaining and maintaining financial freedom.
- Magnetic Sponsoring
Magnetic Sponsoring is not your traditional book that would make it on these types of lists but here is why I put it here. It teaches the right BEHAVIOR to have when you are network marketing. It was the first book that I ever read that really addressed something higher than simple objection handling and sales pitches, it addressed what I had never seen any other network marketing books cover and that is how to have posture, which, in my opinion, is the most important thing to have as a network marketer. It is the ONLY book on this list that I can sell to you. CLICK HERE to get a copy.
- How to Persuade People Who Don’t Want to be Persuaded
Most books about developing effective persuasive techniques are based on traditional debate methods and on fine-tuning ethos, logos and pathos to convince people to do things your way.
Authors Joel Bauer and Mark Levy acknowledge the benefits of earlier approaches, but entertainment and fun are their attention getters of choice. The authors advocate “infotainment,” adapting pitching techniques used by flamboyant non-business people. They may have a point. Some of their techniques, including the use of tricks and props, might help you seize an audience.
I recommend this book to particularly adventurous marketing and sales presenters. While reading this you’ll get an urge to rush out and test what you’ve learned.
- Think and Grow Rich
There is absolutely no way this book will not be in here. If you follow the steps laid out in this book, you will be rich. If you are not where you want to be financially, you simply are not following the steps in this book. Period!
- The Business of the 21st Century
Robert Kiyosaki and his co-author, John really provide a view of the industry from the ‘top-down’, from the mind of one in the B quadrant…and that is the best possible standpoint to view network marketing.
I really appreciate these two guys for their insight and HONESTY about this business and their encouragement to the reader that if they want to ‘change addresses’ and move from the left side to the right side of the quadrant- into the B quadrant, than network marketing is a great start in BUILDING a B quadrant business that will turn into a real asset in just a few years…
This list is not exhaustive. In fact I am reading a book right now that is blowing my away, the result of whose implementation would be evident in the coming months. But I cant put it here cos I am not yet through with it
Obviously know I forgot some really great books. I believe that several of Robert Kiyosaki’s book deserve a place on this list but for the sake of space. So I give you the liberty to tell us the books that have being instrumental in your MLM journey. Let’s know in the comment section.
Kindly share this with your friends using any of the buttons at the top of this post if you think they will get any value from reading it. Thanks!

Don Faila’s book is just awesome. I have read it. In fact my MLM team won the Don Faila award a year ago. It was for the team that used Don’s system of duplication.
Glad we got similar interests again Kiki.
Tosin
